Get ready for Best in the West ’24!
Qualifications will give anyone with previous bouldering experience the chance to try their hand at 30 competition boulders from VB-V9. Those who ‘top’ the most boulders in the least attempts will go on to compete for the title of ‘Best in the West’ in our IFSC-style spectator finals with live-commentating from Dave Noden.
The six categories are:
Youth Female (Under 13), Youth Female (Under 18), Female (18+), Youth Male (Under 13), Youth Male (Under 18) and Male (18+).
The Youth Female (Under 13) and Youth Male (Under 13) categories will not participate in the final and will be scored on the qualification boulders only!
Even if you’re not vying for a place in the finals it’s still worth taking part; BitW is a community event with a fun and friendly atmosphere and our talented team of setters will be pulling out all the stops to create a totally unique experience. Not only that, every entry comes with a free raffle ticket for your chance to win £1000s worth of climbing goodies.
Throughout the day there will be a Climber’s Community Market, featuring stalls from local businesses and charities and Caffi Barcud will be providing a special menu with breakfasts till midday, then pulled pork burgers and beers ready for watching the finals.
