Louise is hosting weekly Yoga sessions suitable for all levels and subtly catered to improve the balance, strength, mobility, physical awareness & focus required for climbing, as well as the mental clarity to enhance your daily life. In these professionally led yoga sessions, we will correct alignment, prevent injury, focus on breath and movement to care for our physical self and calm your mind.
Osteopathy
Get relief for recent injuries and long-standing aches and pains. Osteopathy has long been used in the treatment of muscle and joint pain and sporting injuries. It treats ligaments, muscles, joints and connective tissues. It can be used to both reduce existing pain and discomfort and to prevent injuries recurring. It can also improve flexibility and help to maximise climbing performance. Osteopaths mainly treat:
- Back and neck pain
- Pelvis, hip and leg problems
- Shoulder and arm problems
- Sporting and other injuries
However, osteopathy can help other conditions such as Fibromyalgia, Sciatica, Migraine prevention, Arthritic conditions and Digestion problems.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture seeks to restore balance to the body, mind and spirit and help regulate the natural processes of the human physiology. It is believed in Chinese medicine philosophy that before illness/disease creeps in, energy fluctuations (termed blockages in Chinese medicine) must occur first and can happen anywhere in the body-mind-spirit paradigm. These obstruct the flow of vital energy known as Qi from circulating through the body-mind-spirit triad, impeding normal physiological functioning and impairing optimal health, eventually leading to dysfunction and disregulation of internal physiological organ systems such as cardiovascular system, digestive system, endocrine etc. These are viewed as a whole and each part of the triad is intimately interconnected.
Pilates
Pilates is an exercise method designed to elongate, strengthen and restore the body to balance. It is based upon an anatomical understanding of the body’s muscular and skeletal systems.
Pilates classes take a holistic approach to the body, and the exercises used help to integrate the whole body to re-educate and restore it to optimum muscular and skeletal function.
Pilates can be of benefit to almost everyone, from the very active to the more sedentary. If your work or your lifestyle requires you to sit by your desk, computer, or in the car for significant periods, possibly causing neck, shoulder or back pain, then Pilates may help by improving posture and consequently performance.
Eirian also uses Pilates and other somatic techniques for the management and understanding of long-term (chronic) pain and rehabilitation after injury or surgery.
Reflexology
Reflexology is a non-invasive, light touch complementary therapy that is carried out on the feet or hands. It can bring on a deep sense of relaxation and balance. When our mind and body, physical and emotional needs are in balance, it can aid and improve health and wellbeing.
Reflexology is based on the principle that specific reflex points on the feet and hands correspond to different parts of the body. The feet and hands are a mini map and a mirror of the body. Pressure is applied to specific areas that correspond with internal organs, glands and all systems of the body. By applying pressure and light touch to these reflex points, the aim is to encourage the body to restore a state of balance, this in turn supporting the body’s own healing process.
Reflexology is carried out holistically, with you, the client being at the centre of the decision making and care planning at all times.
Massage Therapy
The aim of clinical massage treatment is to improve your quality of life through increased mobility, joint range of motion and improved posture, while focussing on reducing your daily pain. A clinical massage treatment blends the best techniques from both Eastern and Western practices, combining myofascial release, trigger point therapy, acupressure and stretching (to name a few) with a holistic approach based on modern scientific research into pain.
What can I expect from a clinical massage treatment?
