Some of you have been using Beacon since we first opened up at the Old Marconi Building in Ceunant in October 1994. An amazing 30 years have passed and Beacon has moved and evolved – and more people love us than ever! Many of you will remember the friendly lead competitions we used to have, the painted walls, amazing vibe, smell of horses, leaky roof, bumpy access road, and the legendary cheese toasties! Some things have changed, like our lovely new location (since 2012), and some things haven’t, like brilliant staff and the wonderful enthusiastic route setting. Dare we say it, maybe among the best in the world?
On that note, join us on Saturday October 12th to celebrate. We’ll be putting on a fun lead competition with routes from 5b to 8b and a spectator finals, workshops and talks from climbing legends, stalls and gear deals and a big party to celebrate!
